1. What is the “Sandestin Family Reunion”?

It is the annual gathering of members of the Shepard SuperTeam from all 14 states in which we are located. This incredible weekend will include inspiration, motivation, training and recognition. 

2. What/where is Sandestin?

Located on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast in Destin, Florida, Sandestin® Golf and Beach Resort is a 2,400-acre premier destination resort located between Pensacola and Panama City. It boasts more than seven miles of sugar-white sand beach and bayfront property, golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, water sports, children’s programs, a fitness center and spa, and a pedestrian village complete with shopping, restaurants, ice skating, zip lining, and vibrant nightlife. 3. What are dates of reunion and itinerary?

Friday, July 8, 2011
      1:00 – 4:00 p.m. –General Session
      4:00 – 5:30 p.m. – SuperTeam Choir rehearsal
      7:00 – 11:00 p.m. – Awards Banquet 
Saturday, July 9, 2011
      9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – General session
      1:00 – 2:00 p.m. – Choir rehearsal
      1:00 – 7:00 p.m. – Free afternoon
      7:00 p.m. – until -  Family Night (open to registrants, their family and friends) 
Sunday, July 10, 2011
      8:00 – 9:00 a.m. – Optional worship service (open also to family and friends)
      9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – General session  

4. Can I bring family members and others to Sandestin?

We encourage you to bring family and friends with you. It is a wonderful resort with many and varied experiences and activities on the premises (see #2 above).  However, only those registered for the SuperTeam reunion may attend meetings and the banquet (except as noted in # 7 below). Family night and worship service are open to everyone at no additional cost. 

5. What does the registration fee cover?

The fee covers your registration packet, all meetings and the Friday night awards banquet. All other meals are on your own. 

6. Is there a one day or partial fee?

No. 

7. Can I buy additional ticket(s) for the banquet only?

Once the banquet menu has been confirmed, additional tickets can be purchased for that event only for any additional people you would like to bring. Please contact the office or Elaine Shepard directly for this information. The price will be the same for both children and adults. Payment must be made before the event. 

8. What about lodging?

You must make these arrangements on your own with the Sandestin resort. There is a Shepard & Associates block with various types and prices of accommodations ranging from the Bayside Inn hotel room at $169 (plus taxes) per night to a 4 bedroom villa at $449.00 (plus taxes) per night. You must be at least 21 years of age to book at the Bayside Inn and at least 25 to book other spaces.  

You may book online at www.sandestin.com/22J8EZ.aspx or by contacting Group Reservations at 1-800-320-8115 by phone. Group code is 22J8EZ. A deposit of one night’s room rate is required to secure your space. Cut-off date for reservations at the group rate is June 4, 2011, after which rooms will be sold on a space-available basis. Deposit is refundable if Sandestin receives notice 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. 

9. Can I come earlier and stay later at the group rate?

Yes. The rates are applicable from July 4th to July 10th. 

10. What is the attire?

Casual, modest clothing for all meetings; dressy attire for the banquet. We will wear individual team t-shirts on Saturday morning. 

11. Tell me about the choir.

Participation in the choir to all participates. If you are interested, please contact Marian Gamble (mariangamble@att.net or 404-259-6383) by June 15th. Please provide your name, email address, phone number, vocal section and your RVP’s name. A CD with the songs will be sent to your RVP. There are two scheduled choir rehearsals (see itinerary). The choir sings for the banquet and the Sunday morning worship service. Attire for the banquet is whatever you are wearing for the evening. Preferred attire for the worship service is black. 

12. Tell me about Family Night.

During this time we have our skit and talent show. Participation is open to children, teens and adults who want to sing, dance, present a skit, do comedy or showcase other type talent. Presentations should be suitable for all ages. Sign-up is on Friday and Saturday with Hyman Bell at Sandestin with your name and type of talent (name of song if you are singing or dancing). If you are singing, please provide a CD track unless you are singing a cappella. There is no assurance that the musician will know your selection or have time to practice. Also provide a CD if you are dancing or need background music for any purpose. The talent show can be attended by family and friends at no cost. 

13. In addition to the resort, what else is nearby?

Restaurants at varying price levels, an “outlet” mall, Wal-Mart, convenience stores, supermarkets, drug stores, boutiques, etc.
